Do you want a cabinet sewing machine? I'm giving away an electrified New Home Machine, plus a box full of bizarre attachments (really, they look like something out of Dead Ringers, a movie I wish I could un-watch).
Catch? What catch? Okay -- here's the catch. You have to be able to pick it up, IN CHICAGO, *this weekend*. Sunday, to be specific. We're moving and we gotta get this out the door.
I have no idea whether it works, but I can give you the address of a great sewing-machine tuneup and repair guy who is about ten blocks away.
Here are a few more pics:
Email me if you'd like to set up a time to come pick it up on Sunday. (It would probably fit in the back seat of a reasonably-sized sedan, without too much trouble.)

Oh, Erin, its gorgeous! If I lived anywhere near you, Id be there to pick it up! Im sure someone will provide a loving home for it.

Oh, that is completely lovely! I want to put it in my imaginary perfect retro/boho/feminine/chic flat! Unfotunately I am yet to realise said flat in reality, and also in the UK and therefore very much unable to pick it up.Hope all goes well with the move Erin!

Very pretty, too bad it takes shuttle bobbins. Theyre somewhat rare now; Id bet it takes obsolete needles as well.

That is exactly the type of machine--right down to the cabinet--that I learned to sew on.

Erin, how did the story develop? Did the machine find a new home? Did you regain the space?

That machine looks fantastic for its age. If I lived remotely close to you Id have been there in a heartbeat.

Patti came and picked it up, and is planning to convert it back to a treadle machine and refinish the cabinet! So a very happy ending, I think!

This probably won't find its way to you after so long, but I have one too, and I repair machines, it is rare and mine is missing dome parts. I know if I could see the parts I'd have a better chance of fixing mine. Could I be put in touch with its new owner?
My Name is Molly Casey
I have a little home shop where I repair older machines here in Washington State.
