Multitasking.

I'm a big fan of the dress that is its own accessory. Not just because I'm scarf-impaired (which, sadly, is the case), but because it's impossible to forget to pack the scarf if it's part of the dress.

(Of course, if I always remembered to pack everything I needed for a trip, the lingerie department of Lord & Taylor would miss their monthly quota on a regular basis, and I would have roughly 200 fewer half-slips than I actually do.)

I love the check shown here, but I think I'd make this in (what else) a scarf print, just to really rub it in. I'd draw the line at trimming the edges of the scarf-part with fringe, though.

I'm loving the blue one more, I'm afraid. The "V" in the front would be really flattering; and I like the same-color trim. I'd go with a robin's-egg blue, I think, or lavender (if I looked good in lavender, which I most definitely don't). Or maybe ivory, with black trim.I'm afraid that I'd feel like I was wearing a 1950's Cub Scout Den Mother's uniform---complete w/neckerchief---in the self-scarf number...

You scared me there for a minute, Erin. When I read the bit about making out of a scarf print, I was thinking, "Oh no, please resist the temptation to take that concept to the logical (?) conclusion and put fringe on it!". You did spare me (and the dress) from fringe.

I am scarf impaired as well. Very cute dress, I think though it would take a lot of fussing I think to keep it looking nice through the day.Susan
