Pity the poor pom-pom! What has it done to offend you so? One of my all-time favorite dresses is a white watered silk wedding dress (immortalized by Janet Arnold), circa 1850's, and it is trimmed with ... pom-poms. Silk pom-pom fringe, no less.If you're not a fan, fine, but if you have a secret yen, then pom-pom away, say I! (I also say, why not make the pockets of narrower red and white striped fabric, and trim the top edges with pom-poms, but hey, that's just me.)

Lisa must have access to eBay Platinum Reserve.http://www.achewood.com/index.php?date=04282006

Gidget Bananas

Beautiful but, alas, strapless.

La BellaDonna

Oh, the Gidget Bananas, she is so funny! But not in a bad sense; if you like it, but prefer straps, why not make straps out of wide white ribbon, edged with red ribbon?I say this as someone who would virtually never wear a strapless bra, as I need straps to hide the buttresses beneath. No braless - or even strapless - for this girl!

Ack, I just love your posts. They always make my day. I can picture you out on the skating floor now!

Rebecca

Definitely polka dots.Fun blog!

This has nothing to do with the adorable dress, but I thought the crowd here might be able to help me out. Does anyone know of a place (particularly online) where I can buy Albert Nipon shoes? I saw a beautiful Albert Nipon evening shoe at DSW today, but they didn't have my size! Any help would be much appreciated - thanks!

Erin, I looking forward to the dress a day blog. It's fun, interesting and inspires me to create great dresses. Sounds like you have fun skating and I bet you looked great! Chris, from Glass Slipper Project last Saturday.
