I love the print, too. The other day I was at a bakery, wearing my huge orange jacket, orange stocking cap, orange tennis shoes, and paying with an orange wallet. The guy at the register said, "Is there a reason you're wearing all that orange today, or do you just like orange?" Though tempted to say that I was going hunting, I politely replied, "I just like orange. Too many people wear black all the time." And it's true.

I just got the New Year's vogue tout mail. Look at this. I love the prim in the front, party in the back look.

OOoo! And I have a faboo ORANGE Indian skirt, dip-dyed, with silver spangles, so I'm orange and sparkly! And ... orange isn't the bestest colour on me ever. And I. Don't. Care.Plus, oooo, a couple of beautiful orange saris with goldwork ...

I clicked on jonquil's link, and started browsing the patterns. Good grief, the prices (and good grief, has it been that long since I've looked at new patterns?)! Suddenly, the $30.00 I paid for a vintage pattern seems reasonable.

I made my prototype jean jacket out of an orange cotton twill. I wear it all the time and get compliments on the nice colour. I too like the wacky prints but I fear they do not always work. So then I give the clothes away to the Sally Ann and try again. I loved the black boots part of your story!
